Carter Lake is a classic bouldering area that has been re-popularized by climbers from Boulder in the last decade. There is a ton of rock here and first ascents are still waiting to be had. The first thing to know about Carter Lake is that it is a beautiful place to come bouldering while it borders the lake and has great views of the massive Front Range of the Rockies. The second thing to know about climbing here is that the majority of problems are very difficult. There are still easier problems to be found or invented on just about any boulder but the real gem of climbing here are all the possibilities which are nearly endless. Watch out for a $6 entrance fee.
