The Narrows section of the Arkansas River passes through Wildhorse Canyon, a wild and exciting stretch of whitewater. The river here is dominated by large rocks and boulders, lending their names to such rocky rapids as such as House Rock and Frog Rock Rapids. The canyon sometimes narrows to as little as 12 feet across, making for a thrilling run through the canyon.
The Narrows begins about six miles south of the town of Granite on US 24, and ends near Buena Vista.
