Ancient fossils still lie hidden in the bold and bronzen buttes of Badlands National Park, a protected wilderness penetrated by hiking and biking trails.
Recently, Sibley Lake has been stocked annually with Rainbow, Snake River Cutthroat and small numbers (generally less that 200) of brood replacement Cutthroat. The high stocking rates support a very popular public fishery. Proposed stocking for 2,000 is 7,000 catchable Rainbow trout, 4,000 advanced fingerling Snake River Cutthroat, and brood cull Snake River Cutthroat as available.
