The Blue River to Prince Helfrich run of the McKenzie has a pool drop nature to its beginner-intermediate whitewater. Large waves with the occasional hole are interspersed with smooth pools. Douglas Fir and Hemlock forests line the banks helping to shield the river from civilization. Several access points along this stretch allow for a variety of trip lengths, from ½ day to full day floats.
