Ancient fossils still lie hidden in the bold and bronzen buttes of Badlands National Park, a protected wilderness penetrated by hiking and biking trails.
Not truly bottomless, but thrilling nonetheless, Bottomless Lakes State Park is New Mexico's oldest established state park. The lakes' depth's range from 17 feet to 90 feet, and the unique green-blue color creates the illusion that they are bottomless.
Swimming and camping are allowed at Lea Lake, the deepest of the lakes.
