Ancient fossils still lie hidden in the bold and bronzen buttes of Badlands National Park, a protected wilderness penetrated by hiking and biking trails.
Bonny Lake State Park is an oasis on the rolling prairie and grasslands of eastern Colorado. Nestled in the broad valley of the South Fork of the Republican River, Bonny Lake enjoys colorful vistas in the fall and has a variety of year-round recreational opportunities. Fishing for walleye, northern pike, and bass is excellent on this 1,900 surface-acre reservoir, and wildlife watching is good here. The sandy beaches and predictable winds also make this a good destination for swimmers, water-skiers and windsurfers.
