Ancient fossils still lie hidden in the bold and bronzen buttes of Badlands National Park, a protected wilderness penetrated by hiking and biking trails.
We offer a daily 3 hour, 3 brewery tour that departs from Pier 54's "The Ye Olde Curiosity Shop" on Seattle's Historic Waterfront at 2:30 pm. The tour consists of transportation to and from the breweries, once at the breweries you will learn, in detail the beer making process. Remember that these are actual working breweries, so depending on the day you might see the creation process in progress. And if the Brew-master isn't too busy we might be able to coax him into explaining his brewery's equipment to us. You will also be able to sample the hops and barley that are vital in the beer making process, see how different grains produce different types of beer, what makes an IPA different from a Porter? What's the difference between an Ale and a Lager? Then finally tasting the beer itself, and since each brewery produces a number of different beers, from Amber Ales and IPA's to Porters and Stout's we'll have to taste a few, just for comparison sake. We will give you a score card so you can keep track of the beer you have sampled. For the beers you really like, the breweries sell "growlers" filled with your favorite beer to go. Or just buy a t-shirt, maybe a hat as a souvenir. Speaking of souvenir's, your tour also includes a complementary souvenir "Great Pacific Northwest Brewery Tour Company" taster glass. Then its back to the "Ye Olde Curiosity Shop" just in time for Happy Hour at Ivar's next door or a cruise through the Curiosity Shop with all its fascinating artifacts they have on display. Hopefully you will have had a fun and educational afternoon along with a greater appreciation for the fine craft beers our city has to offer.
